I’m Lisa, a North London Italian home cook and food enthusiast.

Beautiful cuisine is a huge part of my heritage, let’s just say, cooking is in my blood.

My parents, like many 1950s Italian immigrants spent their working lives in the catering industry; from hotel kitchens to family-run businesses, I don’t ever remember a time someone in the family didn’t have a food business.

Although I didn’t pursue a career in catering, I took a more leisurely route back to food and have always harboured great ambition to share my love of cooking. I’m often found composing dishes, menu planning, watching cooking shows, and flicking through recipe books, always looking for inspiration and ideas.

Like most Italians, I’ve honed my skills watching and learning from my mother, ‘Mamma’, my grandmother, ‘Nonna’ and my father ‘Papá’ who was a chef. I strongly believe the life-skill of cooking is one we are sadly losing as the pressure of day-to-day life often makes us grab something, quick, pre-made and ready for the microwave. In the rollercoaster year of 2020, I created Knolita Cooks in an effort to help recreate the sense of learning and coming together as a family, ‘ famiglia’.

I want to empower you to create meals perfect for you, your family, your friends. While it might sound intimidating, with a little planning and cooking knowledge, anyone should be able to whip up simple yet delicious meals.

You can learn in a variety of ways:

  • Virtual group sessions (one off)

  • One to One classes

  • Private events

  • Cucina Club

  • Corporate team building

So let’s get started

I can’t wait to share my knowledge and ignite your passion for cooking soon.

Lisa
